8 Week Summer Shred Recap: Big Results, Big Wins — and the Next 8-Week Kickoff!

Mike Collette • August 29, 2025

Amazing Results and A lot of Hard Nutrition work!

This summer, a group of committed Prototype members took on our 8-Week Summer Shred — and the results were nothing short of inspiring.

Designed to help participants lose body fat, build muscle, and level up their nutrition knowledge, the program blended structure, support, and education. And it paid off.

What Our Community Achieved

Over 8 weeks, participants achieved serious results:

  • πŸ”₯ 22% total body fat lost across the group
  • πŸ’ͺ +10 lbs of muscle gained collectively
  • βš–οΈ 4–10 lbs of weight lost per person, with some dropping 20+ pounds
  • πŸ— Dramatic improvements in protein intake
  • πŸ“ˆ Strength increases across the board

Most importantly, they walked away with a better relationship with food, data-backed insights, and the confidence that comes from showing up consistently.

Member Transformations in Their Own Words

“Coach Gillian’s 8 Week Shred program exceeded my expectations. By combining macros tracking with protein prioritization, I lost 11 pounds of fat while gaining 5 pounds of muscle.
The weekly meetings were both educational and enjoyable, and the InBody scans provided detailed insights into my body composition changes. In fact, my home scale only showed 3 pounds lost — perfect proof of how misleading the scale can be!
Coach Gillian’s expertise and encouraging approach made all the difference throughout the program. I highly recommend the 8 Week Shred to anyone looking to transform their body composition and increase their nutrition knowledge!”
— Shellie
“Loved the weekly meeting and how you introduced different nutrition topics at each one. The use of the InBody was so enlightening — especially that second scan — because my scale at home told me I hadn’t lost any weight (which was true), but I got to see the body recomposition that was happening!”
— Peg
“Participating in the Prototype Nutrition 8-week program has been a huge success for me. I lost 20 pounds, have more energy, and I’m sleeping better than I have in years.
My husband joined me on this journey, and together we saw incredible results — his A1c dropped from 11.3 to 7.2 in just three months. His Doctor was shocked! The weekly meetings were a highlight, and Coach Gillian’s support really kept me motivated every step of the way.”

What Drove the Best Results

Participants who got the best results shared a few key habits:

  • Tracked food daily (including weekends)
  • Prioritized hitting their protein goal
  • Progressively increased weights in the gym
  • Stayed engaged in the group chat and check-ins
  • Planned ahead for weekends and travel

These weren’t quick fixes. They were habit shifts — and they’re what made the difference.

What's Changing for the Next Round

The next challenge — our Pre-Holiday 8 Week Shred — starts Wednesday, October 1st. And based on the feedback from summer, Coach Gillian is making some smart adjustments:

  • 🧠 Customized tracking plans based on your personal consistency (i.e., 3 days/week instead of 7 if needed)

Tim has been an incredible part of our community — always positive, funny, generous, and willing to help. His energy makes everyone around him better. Prototype of the Month is well deserved! Below he answers some questions about his time at PTS. 1.) Share your experience at Prototype This actually isn’t my first stint at Prototype - I’ve been around and worked out here a few times in my heyday. My very first legitimate class though, as a member, was 5am earlier this year and I was welcomed first by Nicole. You can all imagine how that interaction went… and I came back! Prototype is welcoming, fun, clean, and I’ve made amazing friends along the way. It is one of the best hours of my day. 2.) What is your favorite part about being at Prototype? Prototype is not just another workout but a mental reset for me, it fills my cup. 3.) What are your hobbies and activities? Activities mostly involve time with my family outside whenever we can, trips to Ptown and traveling all over for work. I have a hard time sitting still and typically keep a busy schedule. Mix in photography and interior design opportunities with fitness and family and I’d say that's my perfect mix. 4.) How has Prototype helped you or solved a problem for you? I work remotely so in person face to face conversation is something I’ve found I need for my mental health. I’m also super competitive so I tend to push a little harder when I workout with others. 5.) What are you continuing fitness goals to this point? I want to be a parent who can show up for their kids in every aspect of life, which also means physically. Staying fit is important to be able to keep up with them as we collectively get older. I am training for a few Hyrox races coming up but mostly just trying to maintain my current level of fitness for as long as possible. 6.)
