Prototype Open 25.2

Week 2 of the 2025 Open kicked off with a mobility challenge and ended with a very challenging 25.2 workout. It has been awesome seeing everyone motivated and pushing through together.

The Challenge

Week 2 brought a challenge that was all about mobility. This week’s test was the bodyweight squat hold, a movement focused on flexibility and control. It wasn’t about endurance or pushing through fatigue, but rather about finding the depth and stability in your squat. Some participants got deep into their squats and held it for 30+ minutes, showcasing impressive mobility and positioning. Whether you held it for a short time or longer, the challenge was all about working on range of motion and body control.

The 25.1 Workout

This one was brutal.

For time (cap 12 minutes):

21 pull-ups

42 double-unders

21 thrusters (weight 1)

18 chest-to-bar pull-ups 36 double-unders

18 thrusters (weight 2)

15 bar muscle-ups

30 double-unders

15 thrusters (weight 3)

♀ 65, 75, 85 lb (29, 34, 38 kg)

♂ 95, 115, 135 lb (43, 52, 61 kg)

This workout was brutal from start to finish. The pull-ups tested your grip, the double-unders kept you on your toes, and the thrusters only got harder as the rounds went on. The bar muscle-ups were a real challenge, and even the scaled version wasn’t easy—with chest-to-bar pull-ups demanding a lot for that last rep. Each round built on the last, pushing your strength, endurance, and mental focus.
