Not a class. Your program.
Advanced Athletic Training is individual program design for athletes. No templates. A coach assesses how you actually move, builds a program around your sport, your schedule, and your history — then rewrites it every four weeks as you change.
A program written for one athlete — you
Advanced Athletic Training (AAT) at Prototype Training Systems in Westborough, MA is individual program design for athletes age 15 and up — the athlete’s version of our IPD program, for athletes looking to break plateaus with smart, progressive programming. It starts with a free No Sweat Intro and a Prototype Movement Assessment, and turns into a training program built specifically for your sport, your goals, your schedule, your injury history, and the equipment you actually have — delivered by a coach who rewrites it every four weeks. Train in person at Prototype, or run the same program at home, in a commercial gym, or on the road. Adults training for goals outside of competitive sport follow the same process under IPD.
Built Around You
No templates. A group class is written for the room. Your program is written for your body — what your assessment showed, what your sport demands, what your season looks like, and what you’ve hurt before.
- Your sport and position
- Your movement quality & injury history
- Your competition calendar
- Your real weekly schedule
- The equipment you actually have
Progressed Every 4 Weeks
Athletes adapt, and a program that stops changing stops working. Every session is tracked and reviewed, so every four weeks you sit down with your coach and get a new block built on what actually happened in the last one.
- New progressive block every 4 weeks
- A personalized training report card each cycle
- Reviewed with your coach, not just handed over
- Adjusts to in-season vs off-season
- Adjusts around injury and life
Four steps to a program that’s actually yours
No Sweat Intro
A free sit-down with a coach. Your goals, your sport, your training history, your injuries, and what your week actually looks like. No workout — just the conversation.
Movement Assessment
Your coach schedules the Prototype Movement Assessment and screens how you actually move. This is where the program comes from — not a template, and not a guess.
Program Review
You meet with your coach to walk through your first 4-week program — what’s in it, why it’s in it, and how to run it.
Every 4 Weeks, Repeat
Every session is tracked. At the end of the cycle you get a personalized report card and a new program built on the last block — so you keep progressing instead of plateauing.
The program, the floor, and the recovery
AAT isn’t just a PDF. You’re not just getting workouts — you’re getting a coach, the floor to train on, and the recovery space to keep you in it.
See exactly what to do — every session
Your program lives in an app. Message your coach anytime, watch a video demo for every exercise, log your results, and watch your numbers climb over time. In person or remote, it’s how your training stays on track.
Athletes developed at Prototype
Athletes who did their sport-specific development on this floor — and where it took them. Two of them came back to coach here.
Train in person, or fully remote
Same program, same coach, same four-week cycle, same price — $299/mo either way. The only choice is where you train.
On our floor
Most of our AAT athletes train here — you’re on the floor, so you touch base with your coach constantly. Questions get answered the day you have them, and form gets fixed on the rep, not on a video three days later.
- Frequent, informal check-ins with your coach
- Real-time coaching and correction
- Gym access during operational hours
- Performance & Recovery Space on site
Wherever you are
We work with athletes well outside Westborough. Away at school, out of state, mid-season travel — you get the exact same program, built and progressed by the same coach.
- Virtual intro & assessment
- The same individually designed program
- Built around your available equipment — at home, a commercial gym, or on the road
- New 4-week block + report card, reviewed with your coach
- Weekly reflections and video feedback when needed

Questions athletes & parents ask
What is Advanced Athletic Training at Prototype?
Advanced Athletic Training (AAT) is individual program design for athletes age 15 and up at Prototype Training Systems in Westborough, MA — for athletes looking to break plateaus with smart, progressive programming. After a free intro and a Prototype Movement Assessment, a coach builds a training program specifically for you and rewrites it every four weeks.
How is AAT different from a group class?
A group class is one workout written for the whole room. AAT is a program written for one athlete — based on your movement quality, your sport, your injury history, your schedule, and your available equipment — and rebuilt every four weeks as you adapt. No templates.
What is the difference between AAT and IPD?
They are the same individual program design process, and the same price. Advanced Athletic Training is the athlete’s version, for athletes age 15 and up training for a sport. Individual Program Design (IPD) is for adults training for their own goals outside of competitive sport.
How much does Advanced Athletic Training cost?
AAT is $299 per month with a 3-month minimum commitment. It includes your individually designed program, a new program every four weeks, gym access during operational hours, and access to the Performance & Recovery Space. It starts with a free No Sweat Intro rather than an online checkout.
What age do you have to be for AAT?
AAT is for athletes age 15 and up. Younger athletes are served by our youth Fundamentals and LTAD programs, and adults who want individualized programming train under IPD.
Do I have to train at Prototype, or can AAT be done remotely?
Both. We work with athletes all over, and AAT can be run entirely remotely. Most athletes train in person at Prototype because being on the floor means far more frequent contact with their coach, which is where a lot of the value is.
What happens at the Prototype Movement Assessment?
Your coach schedules the assessment after your free intro and screens how you actually move. What it shows is what your program is built from — your movement quality, your injury history, your available equipment, and your schedule.
Does AAT include gym access and recovery?
Yes. AAT athletes can run their program on the floor at Prototype during operational hours, and access to the Performance & Recovery Space — sauna, cold plunge, and Normatec compression — is included.
How do I know if it’s working?
Every session is tracked and reviewed. At the end of each 4-week cycle you get a custom, personalized training report card, and you sit down with your coach to evaluate progress before the next program is built.
