A certificate that says prototype of the month on it

The criteria and standards that we look for when our team puts in their nominations for  Prototype of the month are Coachability, Caring, and Community and in our opinion, Lauren encompasses all three of those qualities handily. Congratulations Lauren!

1.) Share your experience at Prototype:

I started at prototype in 2019, a few months after I moved out to Westborough for grad school. I started with doing a combination of group classes and personal training just focusing on crossfit. When I began working with Coach Joe in 2020 I started doing a little bit more of the olympic weightlifting side of things, but still had crossfit in my programming, and then after the 2022 crossfit open I moved to just focusing on olympic weightlifting with the barbell club. It’s been great being involved in a lot of different programs at CFP whether it’s personal training, group classes, nutrition coaching, or the barbell club. Getting an opportunity to work with different coaches and get to know members across the gym makes the whole experience that much better.

2.) What is your favorite part about being at Prototype?

My favorite part of being at CFP is being surrounded by a group of awesome humans who support everyone that walks through our doors. I love all of the events that get held at CFP, especially 24 heros/24 hours, wet hot summer throwdown, and row for crows. It’s awesome seeing our community come together for these events, and watching everyone crush it. These events are so much fun. Also, shoutout to the barbell club cause you are all amazing!!!

3.) What are your hobbies and activities?

I feel like my free time for hobbies/activities is pretty limited these days because of the PhD program I’m in. So when I’m not in the gym, at work, in class, or doing homework, I enjoy cooking, exploring new places around New England, reading, and taking time to go home and visit my family in NY. I also coach field hockey at Westborough HS in the fall, which is so much fun. This question always stumps me because being in the gym/crossfit/weightlifting is actually my favorite activity/hobby.

4.) How has Prototype helped you or solved a problem for you?

Prototype has given me an environment where my goals are supported. Whether these are my personal goals, professional goals, or fitness goals. I have had so many impactful conversations and interactions with members and coaches at CFP that have helped me with a variety of things. When I first started here in 2019, though, CFP helped give me some accountability which set me up for success with actually getting back to the gym consistently again.

5.) What are you continuing fitness goals to this point?

I am currently focusing on competing in olympic weightlifting. Specifically working towards a qualifying total for the American open finals. More generally, I’m always working on being more consistent with my nutrition and getting stronger in the gym.

6.) Favorite Quote?

Tim has been an incredible part of our community — always positive, funny, generous, and willing to help. His energy makes everyone around him better. Prototype of the Month is well deserved! Below he answers some questions about his time at PTS. 1.) Share your experience at Prototype This actually isn’t my first stint at Prototype - I’ve been around and worked out here a few times in my heyday. My very first legitimate class though, as a member, was 5am earlier this year and I was welcomed first by Nicole. You can all imagine how that interaction went… and I came back! Prototype is welcoming, fun, clean, and I’ve made amazing friends along the way. It is one of the best hours of my day. 2.) What is your favorite part about being at Prototype? Prototype is not just another workout but a mental reset for me, it fills my cup. 3.) What are your hobbies and activities? Activities mostly involve time with my family outside whenever we can, trips to Ptown and traveling all over for work. I have a hard time sitting still and typically keep a busy schedule. Mix in photography and interior design opportunities with fitness and family and I’d say that's my perfect mix. 4.) How has Prototype helped you or solved a problem for you? I work remotely so in person face to face conversation is something I’ve found I need for my mental health. I’m also super competitive so I tend to push a little harder when I workout with others. 5.) What are you continuing fitness goals to this point? I want to be a parent who can show up for their kids in every aspect of life, which also means physically. Staying fit is important to be able to keep up with them as we collectively get older. I am training for a few Hyrox races coming up but mostly just trying to maintain my current level of fitness for as long as possible. 6.)
